log(y) #2 - Big Ideas for 2023 and Where is Sundar?
My second attempt enabled me to gain a better understanding of what to include in this weekly log.
Welcome to my weekly log!
This is where I share my thoughts, discoveries, and experiences with all of you.
I am excited to have found the formula for writing these weekly entries and I hope you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
I have been reading a lot of interesting pieces lately and the challenge is always to choose what to include. But I am confident that I have selected the best of the best for this week's log.
So sit back, relax, and join me on this journey of self-discovery and exploration.

Presentation
Big Ideas 2023. Ark Invest has released a detailed presentation on what will be big in 2023 and beyond. One concept that particularly caught my attention was 3D printing. It has been a topic of discussion in many reports for years, and I have heard for over a decade that it will revolutionize how we create things, yet it has yet to become mainstream.
Articles
How this billionaire lost half his net worth in a matter of weeks. Vox wrote a comprehensive summary of the Hindenburg Research report on Adani stock manipulation. This report sent shockwaves through the stock market and wiped out Adani's wealth in a matter of days. In the end, money is just a made-up number.

Why China is Losing the Microchip War. The US is blocking China from accessing resources to create a chip, software to design, machines, and assembly tools. This is preventing any other country from out-advancing the US, making this not a chip cold war, but rather an unfair chip cold war.
Google Embarrass Themselves (A.I. War Is Heating Up). Cold Fusion made a great video on the recent developments of AI, especially the search competition between Microsoft and Google. It appears that Microsoft is on the right track to win this game, while Google still doesn't seem to know what game they're playing. After the event, Satya, the CEO of Microsoft, appeared in many interviews, but I haven't seen any interviews with Google's CEO. He didn't even show up at the live event in Paris. Where is Sundar?
Using
Apps
Spark Desktop. After testing Thunderbird and Outlook last week, I decided to give Spark another try. I had used it two years ago before switching to Apple Mail. Now that Apple Mail is behaving oddly, could Spark be my go-to mail app again?
Discovery
Resend. A developer-focused email sending service, it's easier to configure than any similar service I've tried. Despite being in early development, the core functions work well.
Velja. A Mac utility app that allows you to choose which browser to use when opening a link. It's very handy if you, like me, use multiple browsers. I've come across similar apps that offer the same function in the past, but the main difference with Velja is that it's free.
Against the Algorithm. This Hacker News discussion gives you good recommendations for YouTube channels to help you master a skill or craft. I found a lot of new channels, some of which I have already subscribed to. It's a better solution to ask in a forum rather than relying on YouTube search or recommendation algorithms.
Thank you for reading another edition of my weekly log.
I hope it has been informative and inspiring. Your feedback is always appreciated.
Until next week, take care.
